KEY SKILLS DEVELOPED IN THIS COURSE

PITCHING

Making a pitch involves the ability to tell your story in a concise structured way to ensure that the people in the room understand exactly what you are pitching. It also involves a skill in engaging and entertaining your audience.

CLARITY

Clarity of staging and composition is extremely important for games and films, as the average film shot is about a second and there is little time for the viewer to observe and absorb the visuals.

LIGHTING AND PERSPECTIVE

Important skills with different meaning and applications in films, gaming illustration and graphic novels. Rough lighting is often used for composition, staging purposes and general planning for the lighting. Good perspective is pivotal for professional-looking drawings.

INDUSTRY STANDARDS

The use of visual development and basic production pipeline. Students often have great ideas, but not a very clear idea of how to go about making their project happen. Our instructors at IDEA Academy will work with the students in showing them the process and the steps taken to make their ideas a reality.

USING REFERENCES

Using references should be instinctual second nature to a professional, and we at IDEA Academy are big believers in this. Using and finding the right references, without plagiarism or copying others is an art, and a very important part of the process.
