INTRODUCTION TO YEAR 1
Our first year of course is made of 3 modules; each module runs for 12 weeks. Students must complete all 3 modules in order to graduate.
Thanks to Anthony Christov's expertise and guidance as Director of Academic Studies, each module will cover all the skills needed to work in a professional environment as an animator and team member.
Students will get through all the needed 2D animation skills to access the second year of course and prepare an amazing demo.

Our students will have the chance to take inspiration from the countless artworks and historical architectures of Rome, the eternal city, where they will have the chance to breathe the air of ancient Rome and taste the real Italian lifestyle.

MODULE 1

2D ANIMATION (1)
HISTORY OF ANIMATION
Screening and analysis of animated shorts
DRAWING FOR ANIMATION (1)
Basics of gesture drawing and body dynamics
ADOBE PHOTOSHOP FOR ANIMATION
Photoshop software fundamentals, tools, brushes and their application for animation
12 principles of animation, how to convey weight, material, friction and other dynamics through movement. Focus is on humanoid characters through the study of takes, weight shifts, push and pulls and force lines
Shape recognition, use of shape to convey feelings, prop design and use of references
CHARACTER DESIGN
Duration: 12 weeks
MODULE 2

LAYOUT AND BACKGROUND DESIGN
Study of perspective, lighting, rendering, use of references, fundamentals of painting
Looping animation, walk cycles; production phases: tie down, clean up and color
Study and practice of Flash and creation of a mini animated short
Staging, composition, camera movement and storytelling for animation
STORYBOARD
Dynamic sketching, understanding of body anatomy and how to exaggerate it
DRAWING FOR ANIMATION (2)
ADOBE FLASH
2D ANIMATION (2)
LIVE ACTING
Improvisation, acting with a mime and its applications to animation
MODULE 3
Duration: 12 weeks
2D ANIMATION (3)
TV PAINT
Study and practice of TV Paint
DEMO REEL
DRAWING FOR ANIMATION (3)
Facial expression study, advanced dynamic sketching
Pre-production and creation of an individual show reel
Effects animation, acting for animation; production phases: animation and clean up of characters drawn by others

COST
The Animation & Visual effects Year 1 cost is divided as follows:

€ 1500 annual enrollment fee

€ 4500 tuition fee
The sum is to be paid as follows:

Enrollment: 1500€ to be paid at the enrollment

First installment: 1500€ to be paid within the beginning of the course

Second installment: 1500€ to be paid within January 15th

Third installment: 1500€ to be paid within April 15th
